National Cup success at Nokia MX Nationals

Barrabool club member Tom Ovens (pictured above centre) tasted success recently at the Gillman Round of the Nokia MX Nationals. The Gillman Round marked the start of the 2006 Motul National Cup, with thirty nine competitors lining up for the class which is especially designed to showcase the talent of riders who are knocking on the door of professional ranks.

Tom Ovens (CRF250), opened the year as the man to chase in the class after he sealed the round victory by finishing first and third in the two motos. This gives Tom the overall lead in the series by 5 points.

Tom will be racing at Barrabool at the Nokia MX Nationals on May 21st. This will be the 3rd round of the Motul National Cup. We would like to see all members come out and support Tom at this event, and encourage his efforts to win the National Cup.
